ASTROX 99: PURE POWER

ByYonex August 25, 2025September 29, 2025

TOKYO, Japan — Yonex is honored to announce the global launch of the third-generation ASTROX 99 series this September, the defining expression of smash power and precision, engineered for today’s powerful, attacking style of badminton.

Designed for players who dominate with powerful smashes after controlling the rally, the ASTROX 99 has been reimagined to deliver explosive power with more confidence. The new line includes the ASTROX 99 PRO, ASTROX 99 TOUR, ASTROX 99 GAME and ASTROX 99 PLAY, offering a tailored experience for elite competitors and rising athletes alike.

Innovation Driving Power and Control

The latest ASTROX 99 introduces an enhanced Rotational Generator System, distributing weight across the grip end, frame top, and joint for seamless transitions and sustained attacking rallies. The Power Assist Bumper at the frame top reduces air resistance while maximizing energy transfer into every shot.In the PRO and TOUR models, Yonex combines 2G-Namd™ Flex Force with a Lightweight End Cap for rapid flex, sharp repulsion, and a head-heavy balance that powers smashes, together, these innovations unleash explosive power in every rally.

By combining these technologies with the Shot Information Connector, which keeps the racquet face stable at impact and delivers clearer feedback, the ASTROX 99 gives players the confidence to unleash powerful smashes.

Design Inspired by Energy and Impact

The ASTROX 99’s striking design draws inspiration from meteors colliding with planets, symbolizing overwhelming force. A black and green base accented with marble-like textures evokes weight and strength, while streaks of orange tracing from frame to grip symbolize the transmission of shot information from the frame to the grip.

Trusted by Top Players

Chosen by athletes who demand the highest level of power and precision, the ASTROX 99 PRO will be the racquet of choice for top athletes from 2025 BWF World Championships, including 2019 World Champion Pusarla V. Sindhu (IND), as they aim to dominate with explosive smashes.

French rising star Alex Lanier (FRA) is also scheduled to transition to the ASTROX 99 PRO, recognizing its unmatched ability to channel controlled aggression and deliver confidence with every shot.

The ASTROX 99 series global launch will be on September 5th 2025.

“The image below highlights the technology featured in each racquet.”

Rotational Generator System

Intricate weight distribution technology designed with the counterbalance theory that allows head-heavy racquets to recover faster between shots.

Enhanced Rotational Generator System

Weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for continued powerful attacks. The POWER-ASSIST BUMPER is fit seamlessly onto the racquet to reduce air resistance and adds weight to the frame top, enhancing power transfer to the shuttle.

Lightweight End Cap

A newly designed end cap, made lighter by removing the internal weight, shifts the balance toward the racquet head and makes this the most head-heavy model in the current lineup.

2G-Namd Flex Force

2G-Namd Flex Force is a new graphite characterized by its quick flex and snapback capabilities. The Carbon Nanotube binding the graphite together reduces energy loss and enhances resilience.

*Namd is technology developed by Nitta Co., Ltd. to uniformly disperse carbon nanotubes in carbon fiber composites.

 Shot Information Connector

By removing weight from the shaft and end cap, more weight is concentrated in the racquet head to increase flex. At the same time, the ANTI TORSION SHAFT, made with high-rigidity graphite, reduces torque and helps keep the racquet face stable. This design increases contact time between the shuttle and strings, allowing more shot information to be transferred with clarity and providing players with greater confidence in every hit.

We also offer a wide range of matching bags in dark green, along with strings, green for the EXBOLT 65 and orange for the EXBOLT 68 .
