Riyadh, SAUDI ARABIA – Powering through with her Yonex racquet, Elena Rybakina (KAZ) captured her first WTA Finals title in Riyadh, defeating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 7-6(0) in the final. With her dominant serve and precise groundstrokes, Rybakina went undefeated throughout the tournament, which features the world’s top eight players.
This marks Rybakina’s biggest title since her Wimbledon victory in 2022, and makes her the first Kazakh player ever to win the season-ending championship. The triumph also lifts her world ranking to No. 5.
In doubles, Team Yonex’s Elise Mertens (BEL) claimed the WTA Finals title alongside partner Veronika Kudermetova, securing their second championship at the event after their 2022 victory.
It was a powerful finish to the 2025 season for Team Yonex, with players continuing to make history on the world stage.
