On May 23, 2025, the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), of which Yonex Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Alyssa Yoneyama) is a member, released its first-ever Physical Activity Impact Report: Moving the World Towards an Active Future.
WFSGI is a global industry body representing brands, manufacturers, retailers, and national federations across the sporting goods sector. It advocates for policies and initiatives that promote health, sustainability, and economic growth through sport and physical activity.
The report highlights the growing global crisis of physical inactivity and the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration. It also showcases a wide range of initiatives by WFSGI member organizations that encourage more active lifestyles and demonstrate the transformative power of physical activity.
As part of the report’s “Energising Communities” pillar, one of the Yonex’s initiatives “The Legend’s Vision” is featured as a case study under “Championing Role Models.” Launched in 2015 in collaboration with four legendary badminton players, The Legend’s Vision aims to grow and globalize the sport of badminton through four key pillars: Junior Development, Community Enrichment, Participation Discovery, and Badminton Advancement. Through events, coaching, and partnerships with federations around the world, the initiative fosters community engagement and seeks to inspire the next generation.
