Team Yonex Shines in the Finals at the BWF World Championships 2025

PARIS, France— The BWF World Championships 2025 gathered 380 athletes from nearly 50 nations and regions, with a prestigious 64-draw competition surpassing even the World Tour in scale. On August 31, Team Yonex athletes, outfitted in the newly launched apparel, took center stage and captivated the Paris crowd.

In women’s singles, Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) earned her third world title—tying the all-time record—by defeating world No.4 Chen Yu Fei (CHN) in straight games. “I played my best match of the year,” Yamaguchi reflected with confidence.

Shi Yu Qi (CHN) triumphed in men’s singles, capturing his long-awaited first world crown at age 29 by overcoming the defending champion, Kunlavut Vitidsarn (THA). Victor Lai (CAN) also made history by claiming Canada’s first-ever medal, securing bronze.

In doubles, world No.1 pairs displayed their dominance. Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae (KOR) won the men’s title, while Tan Ning and Liu Sheng Shu (CHN) captured the women’s crown In mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei (MAS) delivered a milestone by earning Malaysia’s first gold in the discipline.
